STATE PRESIDENT'S DESK
PWP KINDY KIDS

There are single parents with very young children in the 0 to 6 yo bracket – and the PWP Kindy Kids special interest group is great for the children to get together to play and for the parents to network. It does not matter whether you are a custodial parent or an access parent with young children – you are all welcome – mum and dads as well. We thank Elizabeth for starting the group off and then to Rebecca for taking the PWP Kindy Kids group to the next level. Check out your Sole Parent Magazine program, posted to all PWP NSW members, for the PWP Kindy Kids activities details. Rebecca thanks for organizing some school holiday activities while the pre-schools are on holidays. Now Kevin has taken over for the 2008-2009 program – good luck Kevin.

PWP PARENTS REMINDER

We would like to remind our PWP parents that you are responsible for the supervision and well-being of your children at all times during a PWP function, outing or excursion including the school holiday camps. PWP being a volunteer association is NOT able to and does not have the resources, accreditation, screening, licensing or insurance arrangements for assuming child or adolescent care responsibilities. Parents need to be observant where their children are at all times. You are also responsible for the good conduct and behaviour of your children. You need to assess the risks of some activities in relation to the child's age and development. If your child is accompanied by another parent and their children then this is a personal arrangement between the two parents, and other parents or committee members can not be expected to assume responsibility. We need to publish this even though we know most people already understand this.
